2010 World Cup: Charlton Athletic Defender Set For Call
The 2010 World Cup kicks off on June 11 2010 in Johannesburg with the hosts taking on Mexico. Super Eagles Nigeria are chomping at the bit and their coach Lars Lagerback recently called up Charlton Athletic Defender Sam Sodje to his 44 man ‘come training’ session camp scheduled for April 27 & 28 in the United Kingdom; volcano permitting!
Not lacking in confidence Sodje said yesterday that he does not doubt his ability of making Nigeria’s squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The tough defender took time out to say that he feels great to be back in the fold for the national side and cannot wait for the start of the 2010 World Cup.
“When I heard the news that I have been invited for the pre-World Cup camp, I felt great as I have been waiting for this moment to prove my worth, which many are well aware of. I am a good player who works hard for the success of the team and I have no doubt in my ability to grab a shirt in the final team list to the World Cup.” he told Brila FM
Time will tell whether Sodje’s jubilation is short lived when Lagerback announces his 23 man squad.
